The government has made museums obliged to regulate their visitor numbers from 1 June by means of tickets with time slots. Every visitor must have a valid ticket with time slot. In this way we can avoid crowds in the museum.
Even then you need to order a ticket online for Cruquius Museum. Do not forget to bring your pass along with the e-ticket during the museum visit. Both are checked at the entrance of the museum.
Yes, because everyone needs a time slot. Even if you have free access (eg with Museumcard), you must order an e-ticket in advance. Take the (valid) pass to the museum, it will be checked at the entrance of the museums.
Are you unable to order tickets online? Then try again later. Of course you can also contact our helpdesk: from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on +31 (0) 20 244 2877.
Check your spam box. Has the confirmation email not arrived there? Then call our helpdesk: Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm on +31 (0) 20 244 2877.
Purchased tickets are non-refundable and / or exchangeable.
Your ticket is only valid on the chosen timeslot. You are welcome from the chosen time until half an hour later. For example, if you have opted for 11:00, we expect you between 11:00 and 11:30. It is therefore not necessary to stand on the doorstep exactly at your chosen time slot: it is even better if the visitors come in as widely as possible during the half hour.
The Museum Association has drawn up an extensive protocol for museums, based on the measures of RIVM and the government. Your museum visit is fully adapted to these safety standards. The main measures are:
Each visitor will receive a demonstration of the machine within the 1.5 hour visit. Occasionally a malfunction in the system, for example due to a lightning strike, prevents the machine from moving. These faults were remedied in one day.
Sometimes there is major maintenance on the dump floor, moat, of the pumping station. The machine can always be viewed, but cannot move during this maintenance.
Cruquius Museum is next to a bus stop and has lots and free parking.
Group visits are limited due to the new security measures. For visits with more than 5 people, please contact us at reservations@shmdc.nl.
Yes, photography is allowed. If you use a tripod and lamps, you must request permission from the museum in advance. A small fee will be charged for this.

At Cruquius Museum is the disabled parking space, in the general parking lot, near the entrance of the asphalt walkway that leads to the entrance.
Certainly: all areas are accessible and there are two stair lifts where we are happy to assist you. That is why we would like to ask you to inform us in advance that you are coming. Book e-tickets and then send an email to reservations@shmdc.nl with the date and time slot.
People who cannot move independently through the museum are allowed to bring one accompanying person for free. State in your email that you are taking someone with you.
There is a disabled parking space in front of the museum, although unfortunately we cannot guarantee that it is always available.
There are push wheelchairs available. Special rules apply to motorized wheelchairs: unfortunately, wheelchairs with a combustion engine cannot be admitted. Driving at a walking pace is mandatory.
